Closing Ceremony.
Today was our last day of induction. I cannot believe that is is over and already feel like I've been here for weeks. We woke up to a community panel where we discussed education through politics, non-profit, and the private sector. It was so inspirational to hear different perspectives. If only every public and private sector could work together, all students could have access to equal education. One day they will :)
We had free time which was a good way to catch up with friends and family and have some me time. We had our closing ceremony where we listened to a current corps member speak about the importance of having a change of heart and keeping an open mind. We then read letters from current students which will always be my motivation to do what I am doing.
Lastly, we attended first Friday in downtown Phoenix. It was such a good vibe with endless art galleries and live music. I wanted to snap pictures of everything. I know where I'll be next month :)
Tomorrow (today in Indiana time)is my dads birthday and my little sisters graduation open house. I am crushed to me missing them and will be thinking about them all day. Congratulations Lex and happy birthday dad!! Institute starts on Monday and I can't wait to share my experience.
All my love from Phoenix,
Jacey xxo
