Let the fun begin.

Today was the first day that I taught in the classroom. It was long awaited, but so worth it. After morning academic intervention hour, I was assigned to teach an hour block of expository and vocabulary. I was so excited and the hour went by so fast! I was so bummed when my time was up. I was originally worried about classroom management, but they quickly erased that fear with their incredible behavior. Today, we looked at pictures of a garden and wrote about what we already know. Their creative minds went wild, but they stayed grounded to the topic and I was so impressed. I may or may not have spelled carrot wrong on the board which was completely embarrassing. Forewarning, words start to look different when you are writing it 10 times too big in front of your face. Luckily, every other person had no clue it was spelled wrong. And hey, the goal was to try your best, even I'd it was wrong. I call that good modeling :) As for the teachers, our workload just doubled. Time to let the fun begin :) All my love from Phoenix, Miss A :) xxo
